Lots of Winners at Golf Tournament
There were plenty of winners during the the Foundation's 8th Annual Golf Tournament held on Sunday, May 31st at Los Lagos Golf Course in San Jose. Of course there was the winning foursome: Team Camilleri taking first place with an overall score of 58. Team Redman was tied for first, but ended up with second place based on the tie-breaking hole performance. Competition was fierce this year with seven out of the 13 foursome scoring 61 or under!
Here is a recap of the winning foursomes:
1st Place: Team Camilleri including Al Camilleri, Keith Marshall, Robert Boragno, Richard Wright
2nd Place: Team Redman including Marty Redman, Bob Crabtree, Bob Huff, Chuck Cali
3rd Place: Team Lacitgnola including John Lacitgnola, Leonard DiSalvi, Nick Jackson
4th Place: Team Smith including Jesse Smith, Jack O’Malley, Anthony O’Malley, Zack Vaughn
Hole contest winners included: Al Cunningham for Accuracy Drive, Mike Sa for Longest Drive, and Anthony O’Malley and Leonard Di Salvi won Closest to Pin.
More winners were seen at the post-tournament BBQ where over 25 exciting prizes ranging from a homemade apple pie to Giant’s and A’s tickets to a Google watch were raffled off. A special shout out to our newest TGF supporter Caleb, who won the Google watch and A’s tickets at the raffle. Caleb was at the golf course attending another event, saw the TGF raffle, and decided to try his luck. Our golf attendees gave him a little friendly ribbing for winning our prizes, and as an end result, we’re pleased to welcome Caleb into the TGF supporter family!
Here are a few winners acknowledged by President Stacey Redman in rather unorthodox categories: Team Wilson was given special recognition for being the only intact team to have attended all eight tournaments, Bob Crabtree for always being the first to register (and pay), Chuck Cali for best dressed, and Don Gundry for brightest pants!
Thank you to Marty Redman, our Golf Tournament originator and leader each year, to the Los Lagos Golf Course for supporting our tournament, and to Jonathan Lucas from Ameriprise Financial who generously sponsored our tournament. Jonathan also manages the finances of the Foundation. Please look to Jonathan and Ameriprise for help with your financial planning needs!
As always, the most important winners from the Golf Tournament are the people supported by the Tim Griffith Foundation: the people in our community who are working to heal from addiction, violence and loss in their lives. This tournament had a record attendance of 52 golfers, and the money raised will be put to immediate use in funding our programs.
